The GOC HPV Community of Practice group would like to encourage Obstetrics and Gynecology residents to promote cervical cancer screening and prevention in their local communities. This grant will support resident-led initiatives that fall within the following four key themes:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Vaccination catchup for individuals who missed their dose during the COVID Pandemic<\/li>\n
  2. Screening and prevention in underserved populations<\/li>\n
  3. Screening and prevention in new comer\/immigrant populations<\/li>\n
  4. Innovative ideas to reach the World Health Organization goal of cervical cancer elimination<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The initiative could be in any format deemed most effective by the applicant. While the initiative should be highlighted during the Cervical Cancer Awareness week in October 2025, there is no limit on the duration (e.g., longitudinal vaccination or screening clinic). It is the hope that the initiative may be translated to other settings and adopted by other programs in the future.<\/p>\n

    Eligibility<\/h2>\n

    The nominated principle applicant must be a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology enrolled in a Royal College Accredited program at time of application. We encourage residents from at all training levels to apply. There can be up to three co-applicants with maximum of one medical student. Involvement of residents from other faculties is highly encouraged. The initiative must be supported by an Obstetrician Gynecologist<\/p>\n

    • November 30, 2025<\/strong> Interim report due<\/li>\n
    • April 23-24, 2026<\/strong> Presentation at the GOC CPD Meeting and final report due<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Budget<\/h2>\n

      The budget may be set up to $10,000 CDN depending on needs and justification. Depending on budget requests and number of project submissions received, one to three projects will be funded.<\/p>\n

      Travel<\/h2>\n

      Travel costs, including transportation and accommodations to the GOC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) meeting being held April 23-24, 2026 in Toro<\/p>\n
